Join Via Zuid as a maker
We believe it is important that our creators learn to navigate their own artistic course and we support them in their search for a sustainable performing arts practice. In addition to exploring and deepening their artistic signature, enhancing public awareness and entrepreneurship are important development points. They must also be able to motivate why they want to work in and from Limburg, and we question the (potential) added value of support from Via Zuid.
Creators can submit an application annually through the Via Zuid Open Call. This allows them to request support for their professional development broadly. To ensure plurality and connection with the field, we seek advice from a rotating committee that reads along with us during the selection process.
If a maker is selected, Via Zuid acts as (co)financer and coproducer. Creators are expected to bind themselves to a producing partner. However, we are happy to help find connections with partners both within and outside the cultural sector.
For all our Via Zuid makers, we map out what they need. Together, we outline a 'custom' trajectory. The artistic content and business development of the maker are paramount, but public awareness, networking, production, and organization are also of essential importance. We offer individual coaching in this regard and also organize creator meetings to promote knowledge exchange among them.

Note: We support some creators for multiple consecutive years, with a maximum of four years. This selection also takes place based on annual applications.
Would you like to submit a plan? Then please read the conditions below first.
Terms and Conditions
- You are a new maker in the first five years of your professional career.
- You want and can initiate concrete plans yourself.
- You want to create and present from Dutch Limburg and can indicate how you want to build that relationship.
- You have found support from a partner/producer (preferably) in Limburg or you have potential partners in mind.

This way we get a good picture of:
- Your artistic concept/future vision and its concrete implementation;
- The artistic motivation: the necessity/urgency to realize your plan;
- The intended methodology and the artistic team;
- The relation to previously created work;
- Your development goals (artistic, business, production, and publicity);
- The level of audience awareness: your target audience and the desired impact of your work;
- The potential added value of support from Via Zuid.
Send the completed document – supplemented with visual material, videos, etc. – by September 1, 2025 to artistic director Joost Segers. To get to know your work (better), we would also like to be invited to performances and showcase moments. Joost will contact you after submitting your application regarding the further procedure.
