Zorba Huisman (Heerlen, 1996) graduated from the directing program at the Theater Academy Maastricht in 2021. Born in Limburg, she draws inspiration from the stories around her in her development and search as a creator. She translates these into performances to offer them to a wider audience. Zorba directs theater, film, and documentaries.

Her work as a director is characterized by strong, aesthetic images. Sometimes almost museum-like in nature, but always striving for a form that carries content and enhances the story.

She finds her inspiration in classic stories, creators, and writers, to which she responds from her own personal perspective. The perspective of a young woman in a tumultuous time that brings fears, desires, and demands. The meeting or clash of these two elements is what she aims to develop as her personal artistic signature.

Since 2022, Zorba has her own company; NOX.
